Its that time of the year again, where those in cold regions wish to experience what we call HEAT.
We really can't complain as we can't change nature. Seasons change and its another hot one, RATHER HOT I must say.
In this part of the world( NIGERIA), we are particularly not finding it easy as its really unbearable.
I have heard so many jokes, some say maybe Rapture has taken place and no one in Nigeria made it or that the gate of hell wasn't shut the last time it was opened.
Well truth is we have to deal with it and life must go on. we cant put anything on hold just because its hot we only have to find the best way to deal with it.

As our health is very important especially at times like this we have to first take our health serious.
HERE ARE FEW WAYS we can stay healthy and hydrated in the HEAT.

1. Avoid the sun as much as possible:  As much as you can, avoid going out in the sun if you don't have to. If you must as we know we all have to, then try the next tip

2. Wear bright colored clothes or Wide brim hats.  Bright colored clothes reflect the light away as well as the heat but dark colored clothes retain heat. So now isn't the best time to wear black, suits etc, if you must according to the nature of your job then try TIP 1.

3.Stay hydrated. As much as you can always have a bottle of water with you. The weather makes you sweat and you lose fluid which leaves you dehydrated but you can only compensate for that with WATER not ALCOHOL. Alcohol is a diuretic which makes you lose more fluid and leaves you more dehydrated.

4. Good sleep. A good night sleep is essential. It keeps you well rested and prepares you for the next day as we know its particularly energy draining to work in the heat.

5.Weekend Relaxation. Try swimming or learn to swim. IF NOT, try soaking your feet in a full bucket of cold water or soak your towel in water to cool your body from time to time and if not a little outdoor camping (in well shaded gardens) with friends would help.

6.Eliminate extra heat. Now isn't the time to use light bulbs that generate unnecessary heat, if at all keep the lights off as much as you can.

7. Don't eat too heavy. This increases the metabolic heat and makes you hot more.
