Guided Mindfulness and Meditation In Your Pocket

By berrysmotivation - September 27, 2017

Its no doubt that lots of people struggle to get through the week.  At the start of a new week there is this great out burst of energy even though monday is the least anticipated day of the week but by mid week people start to burn out having little or no rest throughout the day with less sleep at night. Over the past couple of weeks as a novice meditator, I've had fun telling everyone I meditate every day. This is because I fall into the category of people who struggle to sleep at night due to the high intensity of work scheduled for the next day. So I sort for ways that could help.
Ever since I decided to try out the guided-meditation app Headspace 16 months ago after hearing about it from a friend, I've been much more aware of my thoughts and emotions, I've been much calmer and more collected in times of stress.
Headspace is a straightforward teacher that helps you learn the basics of breathing and visualization associated with secular meditation.
Content is straightforward without religious or spiritual discourse.  It provides personalized coaching in training the mind to support a daily meditation practice. Headspace techniques include breathing exercises, body scans, focused attention, non-judgment of one’s experience, visualization and sitting meditation. Brief, contemporary animations accompany the guided meditations to explain concepts presented in the sessions.
Headspace introduces the basics of mindfulness and meditation with the “Take 10 Free Trial,” a guided foundation course featuring 10 sessions of 10 minutes each with six accompanying video infographics to illustrate concepts. Completing a session unlocks the next meditation in the series. After completing the sessions in Level 1, users can continue to Levels 2-3 and the full library with a paid subscription. Progress is tracked by giving the user statistics on session completion and time spent meditating.
The “one-off meditations” can be used as stand-alone sessions on particular topics (e.g., sleeping, fear of flying, walking, commuting, eating, etc.).

Are you one of those people that find it difficult to sleep at night or hardly have time for relaxation, do not feel left out as so many people are involved in daily meditation and this includes Wall Streeters, Olympic athletes, and celebrity executives.
After trying meditation for so long, I've gotten to a point where it's become an essential part of my daily routine. This is because as a doctor many people are of the opinion that you survive on pills for sleep or relaxation. Rather than that, I decided to try something natural and healthy.

Headspace is available on both iOS and Android devices, there are few others that could hep too.
